A few months ago, I was contacted by designer Angie Packer as she wanted to use my Dandelion fabric in this project of hers that is so BEAUTIFULLY featured in the current Winter 2009 issue of Do It Yourself magazine.
Unfortunately, there was an oversight and I am not credited for the fabric in this project- on page or in the resources guide in the back. Which obviously is a big disappointment. Hoping that it can somehow be rectified, but as this is a quarterly, it's not likely people will stayed tuned to the next issue to find out who made that awesome fabric and where can I can some? Maybe they can post something online?
Anyway, it's one for my portfolio! (trying to maintain positivity)
What's particularly nice about this issue is all the Etsy featured artists and products and a big spread on my friend Patricia's new book Home, Paper, Scissors. I also see a lot of other familiar names and pieces.

Oh boo, what a bummer!!! Totally understand the disappointment. But you're right, on for the portfolio at least. I'm sure readers might contact them asking for the source. :)

Aw, so disappointing! It does look amazing there though. I'm sure your fame is great enough for it to be recognisable WITHOUT a credit!
I wonder if it's worse than a magazine last week who refused to spell my brand name correctly when they phoned to do fact checking. They couldn't possibly write "laMinx" as they have a capital letter policy. Enough to make you yawn.
Let me just add that it isn't a coincidence that magazines are dropping like flies...
It's getting harder and harder to get people to contribute (give away) things to them, and quite frankly, most people don't read the resources page anyway. So don't sweat it-- include it in your portfolio. When you are contacted to give them things again, you can assess whether it's worth your time and effort.
Looks cute, by the way.
Boooooo! That wasn't cool! I'm sure you'll be in there again WITH your name mentioned!
Ah, how it sucks when that happens!
I got super excited last year as I had a picture published in Vogue but did they credit me as promised? Nope :(
Very disappointing but as you say - one for the portfolio! :)
Congratulations to you Michelle and thank you for bringing up my book feature. But I am sorry about the absence of credit for your lovely fabric. Big bummer. I hope that you do get inquiries because of it's appearance in your portfolio.
your fabric looks great, what a disappointment. I would definately see if they can put something online at least
: )
Oh, that's rude! But it does indeed look beautiful. I hope they'll be able to post something online.
Well, the photo is great, but I give an F- for not crediting you. Dang it! Congratulations to you, nonetheless; that's a great one for your portfolio, for sure.
Mean magazine! The cool thing is- if someone is buying this particular magazine - a do it yourself one- they probably know about Etsy. And when I type in "dandelion fabric" on Etsy- your fabric pops right up! So that is a good thing! If I want something bad enough, I google it, I Etsy it, I ebay it until it appears! And your fabric seems to have that effect on me every time! :) I still don't know what to do with my fox fabric from you- mostly because I think I want to frame it. Maybe that is what I will do!
Wellllll Poopy. But the pic is great! Beautiful fabric and neat way to use it.
surely the fair thing for the magazine to do, would be to include you in the next issue and make sure you're credited! and don't worry - we're a crafty bunch (as angie above notes) and will track down stuff we fall in love with. :)
Bea-u-tiful shot! And a big fat hand slap to DIY mag for the oversight.
Oh, that sucks! But it's still press for your site, and a piece for your portfolio.
The fabric is beautiful..just sad it wasn't credited.
I agree with Fabien. Boooooooo! I'll even add a Hisssss! How could they not give the credit you so much deserve?
Well, it looks fabulous! Congrats!
Sorry Jabien! I hit the "f" instead of "J".
Michelle, it looks fantastic!
It *does* look lovely though. Good luck at Market!!
oh dang it, its a beautiful spread and I really love that Dandelion print.
