I'm Baaaaaaaack!

This will be a a rather uninformative post, I'm afraid. I am exhausted, I've got lots to focus on now that I'm back (primarily calendar making!), my legs and feet hurt from walking so much with a heavy tote, and I am a little overwhelmed as to where to be begin. I still need to download the few pics I took and gather my thoughts on what I want to say.

During this whirlwind experience at the International Quilt Market in Houston, I realized I'd make a terrible reporter. I was feeling a bit pressured to "tell all", when in reality, there is so much to tell, I couldn't possibly remember it in detail or get all the facts straight. I'm not a note taker, remembering names is hardly a strong suit, and my biggest impressions can sometimes be on the smallest of details. So, I'll share what I can over then next few days.

All in all, it was a most educational experience, but one of the most incredible aspects was that I got to meet so many blog personalities face to face- an experience that many of us found exhilarating since we spend most of our time in the veil of a computer screen and editable format of communicating. So, I'm very happy that I made the efforts! More to come... stay tuned.

Here's a picture of the Henry Glass Booth and the lap quilt (right) they had made with Dogwood for the show. I think it came out great! They also dressed the back table, the desks and the chairs at the desk in my fabric, too.

PS- Can you believe Halloween is this Friday?! I still have to work out my son's costume and plan the day- never a dull moment 'round here.

Welcome back! (The quilt looks great!) The whole experience must have been an exhilarating whirlwind. Looking forward to hearing more, but take some time to put your feet up and relax a bit, you deserve some time to just absorb it all! As for the halloween costume, you could just wrap your son up in several yards of Dogwood cloth and say he's going as a most beautiful bolt of fabric!

It was great to meet you this past weekend. I am still recovering from it as well. It was almost like living in Ikea for 3 days - so much to look at, so many people. :)

I like your take on the whole thing - it was great to be able to put faces to names. That made it feel much more like the community that it is.

We've all been anxiously awaiting your return! I kind of figured it'd be a bit overwhelming...but so exciting to see your quilt "in the wild!" So glad you went and got to take it all in...I'll patiently await your report, whenever you decide to get around to it!
