Spreadsheet Chic

Kind of an oxymoron because really, can a spreadsheet be chic? Well, I gave it my best. I balanced, colored and fussed over this. Why? Because I have to look at it nearly everyday, so it may as well be as pleasing as it could be.

After my post on shipping, there were some who requested to see the spreadsheet that I created for use in my journal. Maybe "ledger" is a more appropriate name? Or "log"? Oh, I dunno... it's Friday!

The point is, I have to write all this info down. Over the past year, I've found that this info is the best to have on hand at any given time. I have check off boxes so I can track my progress, too. If you'd like to take a peek, you can download this Excel document. Feel free to use it for personal use! You may even want to change it up a bit to use for your own means. Or you might just think I'm anal-retentive crazy and this is proof positive.

I print mine on both sides of the paper and put it in the nicest binder I could find. There is something to be said for getting yourself nice office accessories... it just helps mentally when things look nice, even when they are for purely utilitarian purposes. If you can splurge, I say, do it.

Happy Friday everyone! Today in the tri-state area, it is GORGEOUS, in all caps. The windows are open, the cicadas are singing, the neighbor's landscapers are no where to be found which makes it all the more pleasant when I don't have to listen to leaf blowers and lawnmowers, I've got my Pandora radio station a-blasting. And the best? My hubby took the boys to his sister's house for a day in the pool, which means I can get SO MUCH DONE! I have already checked 3 things off my list.

A string of uninterrupted hours is the best gift ever these days.

Gotta get back to work! Enjoy your day, everyone.

Great informtaion. I have a B&M gallery and 12 other consignment artist that I have to keep track of as well as my own work. I use a print out spread sheet that I fill in after each sale. My son does all the data entry, and then it goes to Quickbooks for tax and to print out artist checks each month.

Cool!

You're making it so easy for us to be organized, too! Thanks.

Glad you have a day to yourself. What a treat!

Daisy Janie says no margarita...I say a margarita will be the perfect end to your day. Ole!

Thank you so, so much for sharing this with us!! And I am also very grateful for all of the info on your order fulfillment process. Many people have told me that I need to get an etsy shop going, and I want to soon. This will help make things less overwhelming.

Have a great weekend and know that you are an inspiration to me!

Thanks for the form. I'm a form freak in my computer business, too, but I haven't figured out how to keep good records in a "pretty" way that I understand since I started in the sewing/craft business. This is costing me at the accountant's office! So, your form looks to be a great start. I appreciate it. -- Michele
