I'm sort of exaggerating, since our youngest has been doing this "trick" for a couple of days now, but when he propped himself up this evening slapping his chubby little hands on the table as if to say "Barkeep! Line 'em up!", I learned tonight that I would have to be sharing my food with this young one... and that his appetite will likely outweigh my own.
Today was good. Very relaxing. Scratch that- it was anything but relaxing, but still, the break from the everyday actually seemed relaxing. First we went for a delicious French toast brunch at one of our fave brunch eateries, Raymond's in Montclair (Fog and Thistle can attest!). Then we went shopping at Whole Foods specifically for gDiaper refills, on which we snagged the BEST deal ever because they had an older price tag on the shelf and it wrung up differently, so not only did we get the "old" price, but we got one free, too and then because we bought two cases, we got an additional 5% off! WOOT! Then we came home and did serious, I mean nasty serious, damage on some pretty hideous weeds that have been taking over our long neglected backyard (these images show what it should look like, and DIDN'T)... we realize how busy we'd been lately just by the jungle that grew. (OK, so now my fingertips actually ache from pulling and digging at weeds for hours. I'm not making that up! It's true!) After showering and feeling human again, I made my guacamole. I make great guacamole. I think everyone who makes it does a good job, but I am a bit partial to my own. I don't think I do anything special, but the freshness and the fact the I made it seems to make it the most spectacular guacamole ever made!! And now to the point of the story... whilst chowing down on guac and chips and white whine, Baby B pulled himself up and made his demands. And here he stands in full 24 lb. glory. He's 11 months old!
Yeah.
Feel free to download my guacamole recipe card pdf!
I don't promise that your baby will stand and demand as a result of making this fine salsa, but I can practically guarantee that you will be licking the bowl clean with your fingertips. I swear!
*Oh, and my tip for the day: before you throw those avocado peels away, rub what's left of the pulp on your hands, give them a good smear, then rinse- your skin will be so silky smooth!
Afterwards we rode our bikes around town and decided to drop in on my childhood friend Camille, author of the blog Rtemis, who was visiting here this weekend with her family.
Home, dinner with my brother and School of Rock then Peter Perfect at 9 p.m., blogging at 10 p.m (reading will have to wait til tomorrow!) and I'm all set for back to work!
Thanks to everyone who commented on yesterday's post about shipping! I'm glad I could shed some perspective on the situation and that there's so many who can relate to what I had to say.

Wow the power of the avocado!! He he!
Oh great tip with the peel, I'll have to try that out, while the Hub makes the guac!
Reason #137 why guacamole may just be the perfect food!
My mouth is salivating at the thought of your guacamole, and my rough hands, (from pulling all of my weeds!) long for the magical powers of the peel! Thanks for the recipe and the beauty tip!
Thanks for the recipe, will try!
Fun fun day! Now in the mood for Raymond's....may see if I can persuade my friend to meet me over there after I drop off Amelia.
Thanks for the mention :)
I wonder if 4:15 am is too early for guac?
Yay for baby B standing up!
11 months, and 24 lbs of handsomeness!!! He is TOO much! That guac sounds boom-bah-zee--I think I'd be standing and demanding too! I started making it last night too, but since the salmonella scare on the best ingredient--cilantro, mine seemed to be lacking a little something. : (
mmm i love guacamole! it definitely gets me on my feet =)
I need a good guac recipe, thanks for sharing!
What a reminder to go weed myself, I have been neglecting!
In South Jersey, we've been scarfing down the avacados as well.
But, after 2 margaritas, we're not standing as well as the baby!
He looks so cute! Those chubby legs, remind me so much of my little guy when he was 1...enjoy, time flies.
i'll stand for guacamole, too! he is so cute and it sounds like you had a lovely weekend.
I would stand on my tip-toes for guacamole...thanks for the recipe! Oh and congrats on the gdiaper score!

mmmmm I love guacamole! I'll need to give yours a try. Great post yesterday with all your shipping advice. Thanks for sharing!
It was so much fun to see you riding up on your bicycle. You really made my day and what a wonderful way to wrap up a sad visit home. How could anyone feel sad when holding your little or should I say, not-so-little, guy. He is perfection. And, he's my kind of guy. I could live on guacamole or almost anything made with avocado.
PRICELESS!! Yay for babies!!!
It's been a few days since I visited your blog and there he was...cutie pie Bruno....I love this post, it made my day!!
Your baby boy is soo cute.
I love the free pdf for your guacamole. Great little giftie for friends or just to add to a gift package as a tie-on. Thanks.
I have to say I'm rather partial to my own guacamole but I'm sure I'b be licking the bowl clean if I had yours in front of me. Great tip for the peels. I'm a big fan of keeping my hands well cared for.
I just read you interview at CraftySynergy. Enjoyed it.
