The long awaited 1st strike-offs for my Dogwood Quilt Collection are in! I have some minor color adjustments to note (possibly you can see my scribbles above...)
Overall, I'm really pleased with the translation. You can see some more views here. The mill they are using is doing a very nice job. Colors are pretty spot on.* Have some saturation issues... a few shifts in color. All the typical stuff you'd expect to see... which is why it's so important to see a strike-off (counter sample)! These are done by hand, are unfinished and are a teensy bit loose with translation- but it will all be cleaned up and sharpened in the run. The final product will be done on a roller printing machine- a fascinating and exciting process (see this cool post from JCarolineCreative about Jessica Jones' Modern Flora fabric production run).
I still have no official word on delivery or anything! and I'm still biting my tongue to not divulge the who's, what's, why's and the generally BIG news about the line... but I'm pretty sure all will be revealed within a month... man, I hate secrets!!
August proves to be a big month for me, so sign up on that mailing list if you haven't already if you want to keep informed!
*late night addition: colors are NOT spot on. I found a lot of inconsistencies under scrutiny. Ah, the joys of making comments: 10% lighter, slightly yellow, less dull, more saturated, etc etc. You begin to wonder if anyone's even paying attention to what you write!

Very exciting! I think they look great!
(I am sure it is difficult at times being on your side of things. After all, these are your babies, and you want them represented just as you gave birth to them. I am sure the final product will cause you to beam like a proud mama!)
I'm excited for you,and looking forward to hearing more.
I'm glad I'm not the only one fascinated by printing processes. I was lucky enough to visit a local textile mill a few years back when still a student, and saw the roller printing process in action,if I hadn't had a hangover at the time,I'm sure it would have been thrilling.
Sadly most of the textile mills here are long gone, this area was once home to a thriving textile industry, these days I have to satisfy myself with museums, like Styal Mill, which is lovely, one of my faveourite places infact, but I wish I could source locally produced textiles.
Ooops seemed to have rambled on a bit, sorry,it's my favourite subject.
Your blog is never short on big announcements, and that's why it's so fun to read.

I'm a very new fabric designer and have spent some time this wknd surfing and your name popped up a few times. Now I know why. I love your look. And, as an interior designer, I think it's very appropriate (and almost necessary) to have more than one style. I'll be back to visit again. Congrats!
