I tell you, I make myself crazy sometimes. Alright, a lot of the time. Today, I'm home with baby, minding my own business and this IDEA pops into my head: I should silk-screen again. I should make silk-screened linen dish towels. I should definitely do this and I should research it now.
So, hours later, I'm here with a sketch of my images and a source for lovely pre-made dishtowels and about 10 bookmarked pages on silk-screening. Yes, apparently this is the medium I need to do for this, after a rather trying search for a lesser complicated method.
My brain hurts from all this- and thinking about how, where, when, I mean really, WHEN? am I going to do this?!?!?
Oh, but I'm doing it alright... I can't fight my head. When it gets something lodged in it, it's damn near impossible to shake it loose.
*shakes fists and rolls eyes up to look at brain*

There is one thing stronger than all the armies in the world; and that is an idea whose time has come.

I think that when we are to give birth to a new creative idea, there's nothing we can really do to stop the labor pains! Looks like you have yet another good idea that needs to be birthed!
I'm frequently prisoner to my own brain...why is it that my brain could be on auto-pilot all day but as soon as my head hits the pillow...UGH!
By the way, those snacking birdies are adorable...I may have to snatch one up once they're made.
This happened to me a couple of months ago too. Your designs for the silkscreen are great.
Yes, but you have such good ideas.
And we'll all have Cicada in our kitchens (soon).
(cute for more notepads, too)
you have been super busy, creating even more beautiful designs. I love he little snail, and the bird tea towel, you have to make these!
: )
I want the last one with the little birds munching on a snack!! Adorable!!
I agree, when you're ideas are this good, who needs a 12 step program?!
If you find a twelve step program, sign me up too. Guilty of this as well, and as recently as this week. I'll tell you about it off line next time.
All artists need a 12 step program. The word obsession comes to mind. :>)

well at least you will be prepared when the free time comes to silkscreen those lovely dishcloths!
the birdies are so cute!
Those are such great designs! I share your ambition to make great tea towels. The problem for me has been finding towels of the right shape. I broke down and tried sewing my own, but it's so labor intensive. ugh.
I know exactly how that feels. Right now, logically I tell myself, not a good time to expand, but the other part of me is completely satisfied that now is the time!
Lovely sketches and a great idea!
They will be gorgeous and I totally know where you are coming from. I don't have enough time in the day to do everything that is in my head. Even before having blee.
I write this as a wheezy blee sleeps in a carrier on my chest. I'm afriad if I move she will wake up. At least I am getting caught up on my blogs!
Listen to your brain, it has great ideas. Those designs are so cute.
I think you should...because I guarantee if you do I will be your first loyal dishtowel customer. Oh and you totally have time...who needs sleep anyway?
I so know the feeling! Once you get that image or idea in your head, you can't get it out until you're actively engaged in making it . . .
I don't know how you find the time to do all this, but I think tea towels are an amazing idea worth pursuing!
Oh my I love those towels! I'll be watching for them :)
Argh! You people aren't helping!!!!
:)
BTW - you are going to love the instant satisfaction of the soft lino blocks - great fun. I showed my son working on his project back in my blog somewhere. He cut most himself - but beware. - use lino ink too - the fabric paint can be a little tricky. - will look for your jems.
OK - these are truly fabulous! You must must must do it - I can't wait to buy one! You going to need to hire some employees soon to help you out.
You are too funny! I do the exact same thing to myself and it never fails taht I will add twice as much work to my workload!
These look awesome and I can't wait to see what you come up with next!
I love the designs and think it's a great idea. I do the same thing and find myself rummaging through my yarns to find something perfect for my vision.
Oh my word...I know exactly what you are talking about!!! It's a blessing...and a curse, isn't it? Love the towel designs though!
I'm the same way... I can think of some great ideas sometimes, but get stuck on the execution. :) Those are beautiful designs though!
I know what you mean! I get crazy like that too and my mind goes in different directions. Good luck!
